Arriving by the first crack of dawn,
Falling on my freshly trimmed lawn,
By the vendor’s perfect aim,
You arrive in sunshine or rain.
I lift you with fondness galore,
Inhaling your freshness I adore,
Your crisp virgin sheets in this age,
Envelope me as I scan each page.
Splashed in news with colors,
Snippets, contests causing fervors,
Crimes and celebs of the world,
All captured in one swirl.
My companion as I sip a cuppa tea,
My informer of the serials I see,
My help to scare meddling flies,
My screen to shield the hot skies,
Each day holds a beautiful day,
With you, my dear newspaper.
